A User's Introduction to JWST
Presented by Mike Ressler
Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California Institute of Technology

Thursday, November 14, 2013
4:00 P.M. in 169-336

Abstract
In a few years' time, JWST will launch and provide an outstanding resource for the exploration of a wide range of astronomical topics. This colloquium will introduce the scientific capabilities of JWST (with only a minor MIRI bias) to the Caltech/JPL community with an emphasis on "How do I use this thing?" We will touch on instrument features, sensitivity, operations/constraints, proposal planning, data policy, etc.

About the Speaker
Mike Ressler is the Project Scientist for the Mid Infrared Instrument (MIRI) on JWST. Read about Mike here, http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?release=2012-214 and here, http://science.jpl.nasa.gov/people/Ressler/ .
