Presented by Ignas Snellen

Abstract
In this talk I will review the state-of-the-art work on exoplanet characterization, mainly focusing on ground-based techniques. I will discuss what we do now, can do in the near future with upcoming instruments, and later with the Extremely Large Telescopes. Detailed knowledge of the chemical composition and climate of Earth-like planets such as Proxima b and the seven TRAPPIST sisters are within reach.
